Weather Policy
Five Star and NJLC are committed to safety. We play in the rain. Summer electrical storms present us with a constant problem. Our policy is very simple. We suspend play at the first visible lightning flash. Play will remain suspended until 30 minutes after the last sighted lightning. This has some impact on game delays and and cancellations. If lightning is sighted in the area prior to game time, games will be delayed. If lightning is sighted 10 or more minutes after the scheduled starting time, the balance of the game will be cancelled. We understand the disappointment when we cancel play due to some long drives but we will always err on the side of caution. Please understand that thunderstorms are localized in area so conditions will vary. Please understand the judgment is in your hands so please check the various weather sources.
